چکیده

Autostereoscopic 3-D imaging and display system is implemented on the notebook 486 DxII PC with TFT active matrix LCD display module and accompanying lenticular sheet lens. Image processing board (e.g. Targa Plus which is commercially available) is used to capture and display the image. Display experiments for still image and animating graphics image were very promising and satisfactory. Measured depth perception is about 100 mm on notebook PC LCD display unit. Compact design of lens-plate and TFT LCD display module would be appropriate for 3-D game machines, stereoscopic TV system on multimedia PC.

3D-Enhancement: Reducing Cross-talk in Auto-stereoscopic Displays

Auto-stereoscopic displays provide 3D visualization without requiring the user to wear glasses or other devices. Of special interest are auto-stereoscopic displays that use optics such as lenticular lenses and parallax barrier to direct a set of views to different angles. This type of displays is by far the most common in print as well as in digital displays such as computer monitors, mobile de...

An Auto-Stereoscopic VRML Viewer for 3D Data on the World Wide Web

This paper describes an auto-stereoscopic VRML viewer for a stereoscopic display without any glasses called “Rear Cross Lenticular 3D display (RCL3D display).” By presenting a virtual environment directly on the 3D display, people feel the depth of environment just as the physical model. In the “net-surfing,” this viewer automatically generates a pair of stereoscopic images from VRML2.0 data on...

Lenticular system: full-color, limited-angle, autostereoscopic alternative to holography.

The microlenticular system is a method of hard copy imaging that provides stereoscopic cues without the use of special glasses or viewing devices. Therefore, it is called an autostereoscopic technique. The microlenticular system consists of a layer of cylindric lenses combined with a photographic emulsion that carries three to seven different two-dimensional views of the same three-dimensional ...

How to Rate the New Glasses-free Experience: Subjective Quality Assessment Methodologies for Experiments on Light Field Displays

Novel forms of 3D visualization are rising, where users no longer need to rely on additional equipment, such as special glasses or head gears, in order to properly perceive the visualized content. One particularly notable type of these systems are light field displays. User experience on such glasses-free displays is just as important as on any visualization technology, and thus researchers con...

Ghosting in Anaglyphic Stereoscopic Images

Anaglyphic 3D images are an easy way of displaying stereoscopic 3D images on a wide range of display types, eg. CRT, LCD, print, etc. While the anaglyphic 3D image method is cheap and accessible, its use requires a compromise in stereoscopic image quality. A common problem with anaglyphic 3D images is ghosting. Ghosting (or crosstalk) is the leaking of an image to one eye, when it is intended e...
